Activities Outside the Conference Network with old friends and new by participating in a battery seminar or experience springtime in Florida by playing a round of golf. Special activities are open to conference attendees and spouses. Suggested Self Guided Tours Florida has an abundance of activities, from swimming and fishing in the 80° Gulf of Mexico to discovering wildlife in Everglades National Park. Stay a few days after the conference and discover the exciting attractions and nightlife greater Orlando has to offer. Disney World in Kissimmee is easily accessed, and Sea World is a short drive away. Disney's BoardWalk is walking distance from the conference hotel. It has more than 9,000 square feet of shops, restaurants and nightclubs. This quarter-mile entertainment area is also conveniently close to two Disney theme parks. Stroll along Disney's BoardWalk during the day to explore the unusual shops and restaurants. When the sun cools down, the nightlife heats up with street performers, food vendors, midway games and lots of live entertainment. Have a car and a free day? Take an hour drive to the Kennedy Space Center at Cape Canaveral on Florida's east coast. Or, for relaxing after the conference, unwind in the small town of Mt. Dora, Florida, about 40 miles north, and spend a night or two at one of the many bed and breakfast guest houses. This year, Battcon offers golf and three preconference battery seminars, in addition to other activities posted below. Some events require advance registration. If the event includes transportation, be at the bus location ten minutes early. Events depend on minimum participation. Check here for updates. This page will be updated soon with more events for 2011.
