The Battcon International Stationary Battery Conference for 2008 is at the Marco Island Marriott Resort on Marco Island, Florida. This outstanding beachfront resort has 450 rooms set aside for Battcon attendees.

A New Location on New Days

This year's 2008 conference is at the Marco Island Marriott Resort. The conference runs Monday through Wednesday, with special activities on Sunday.

Getting There

The closest arrival airport is Southwest Florida International. Alternate airports are in Ft. Lauderdale and Miami.

The Marriott Resort conference hotel is 53 miles from the Southwest Florida International Airport in Ft. Myers, Florida. All core conference activities are at the hotel. There is a $10 plus tax per night parking fee at the hotel.

Ground Transportation

In addition to renting a car, transportation options from Southwest Florida International Airport at Ft. Myers to the Marco Island Marriott conference hotel include chartered and shared limos and vans. Chartered rides from the airport to the hotel usually take 50 minutes.

Contact the following suggested companies directly, at least 48 hours in advance, for rates and reservations. Prices are plus 20% gratuity, tolls, and parking. Other companies may be available.

From Southwest Florida International Airport
(about 53 miles)
Exit the airport on Chamberlin Parkway and follow the road until it turns into Daniels Parkway. Follow Daniels Parkway west about a mile to Interstate 75. Take I-75 south 34 miles to the Marco Island exit. Take State Road 951 (Collier Blvd) south for 16 miles to the Marco Island bridge. The resort is on the right, 3 miles after the bridge.

From Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport
(about 120 miles)
Exit the airport to I-595 West. Take I-595 west about 10 miles to where it joins I-75 West or North (signs may vary). Take I-75 about 80 miles to the Marco Island exit. Take State Road 951 (Collier Blvd) south for 16 miles to the Marco Island bridge. The resort is on the right, 3 miles after the bridge.

From Miami International Airport
(about 130 miles)
Exit the airport and follow signs for Interstate 95 North. Take I-95 North about 10 miles to I-595 West. Take I-595 west about 10 miles to where it joins I-75 West or North (signs may vary). Take I-75 about 80 miles to the Marco Island exit. Take State Road 951 (Collier Blvd) south for 16 miles to the Marco Island bridge. The resort is on the right, 3 miles after the bridge.
