Implementing a NERC PRC-005 & TPL-001 Compliant Battery Maintenance Program Interested in refreshing your knowledge or learning how to be compliant with the battery requirements of NERC PRC-005 & TPL-001? Then this session is the perfect fit for you. Sunday Aug 3rd  8 AM – 12 PM
Stationary Battery Basics This session is for the user who is fairly new to lead-acid and Ni-Cd batteries. It provides the basics of how these operate and how to take care of them. Sunday Aug 3rd  1 PM – 5 PM
Focus on evaluating dc arc flash risks and other battery safety issues This workshop will walk through the process of identifying and quantifying the hazards associated with battery work.  Participants will learn how to develop a Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and will have the opportunity to complete a JHA for specific scenarios. Sunday Aug 3rd  1 PM – 5 PM
Beyond the Fundamentals This course/workshop delves deeper into maintenance of lead-acid batteries. For those new to batteries, it is suggested that they take the Battery Basics course/workshop prior to taking Beyond the Fundamentals Wednesday Aug 6th  1 PM – 5 PM
Li-ion Fire Hazards, Mitigation, and Response From the 2019 Arizona explosion that injured four firefighters to the recent massive Moss Landing fire in California, lithium-ion batteries have been in the news for all the wrong reasons. This session explains why Li-ion battery fires happen, how system designs – and the codes that govern them – have evolved in response, and describes best practices for first responders.
